Mr. Raven was appointed Director, Chairman, President and CEO of DXI Energy effective June 12, 2019. Mr. Raven, P. Geol, MBA, is a professional geologist, and seasoned oil and gas executive with over 20 years of experience in finding, developing, and monetizing oil and gas projects worldwide. He has held senior management positions with a number of junior and senior upstream Canadian oil and gas companies including Oilsands Quest, Norwest Corporation, and Cenovus Energy. Most recently, Mr. Raven was Vice President of Geology and Geophysics for Koch Industries (Canada), a subsidiary of Koch Industries from Wichita, Kansas, one of the largest privately held companies in North America. While at Koch Industries (Canada), Mr. Raven managed the exploration efforts of a land inventory of over 1.5 million acres and a team of seasoned industry professionals. Mr. Raven has a proven track record of exploration and development success combined with a superb history of leadership and management of high-performance teams. Further, Mr. Raven has built strong relationships with investment banking firms in Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, Houston, and New York.
Mr. Matheson possesses an extensive 30-year oil and gas executive background with an emphasis on both management and finance. He previously served as CFO and then as President of Equatorial Energy Ltd., a public Canadian oil and gas exploration & production company. Equatorial developed from a "start-up" to a TSX listed company with a market capitalization in excess of $400 million and was later sold to Resolute Energy of Calgary, Canada. Mr. Matheson graduated from the University of British Columbia and was admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in British Columbia, the Northwest Territories, and Canada in 1975.
Mr. Hodgkinson has been a Director of DXI Energy Inc. since May 18, 2004 and the Chairman and CEO since July 14, 2004. He resigned as CEO of DXI Energy effective December 12, 2018 and the Chairman of the Board effective June 12, 2019. Mr. Hodgkinson is the President of privately held Hodgkinson Equities Corporation, which he established in 1988. His company provides consulting services and capital to emerging businesses significantly to the petroleum resource industry. These consulting services consist of assistance in the areas of investment, capital formation and management oversight. Mr. Hodgkinson was the founder and Chairman of Optima Petroleum, with production assets in Alberta and the Gulf of Mexico before merging to form Petroquest Energy, a NYSE listed company (PQ). Subsequently, he founded and was CEO of Australian Oil Fields, which would later merge to become Resolute Energy/Cardero Energy Inc. In 2001 he was an early stage investor and original lease financier in Synenco Energy's Northern Lights Project in the Alberta oil sands which went public at $17 per share and ultimately sold to Total and Sinopec for over $1B. Early in his career, Mr. Hodgkinson was a Vice-President and partner of Canaccord Capital Corporation.
Mr. Sullivan was appointed Director, President, and CEO of the Company on December 12, 2018. He resigned as President and CEO of DXI Energy effective June 12, 2019. In 1995, the Employee Stock Ownership Trust (‘ESOT”) purchased Elkhorn Construction (“Elkhorn”), a US natural gas and oil construction company located in Evanston, Wyoming, from its founders. Mr. Sullivan, together with the founders and certain key employees, built Elkhorn from a company with 110 employees and $10,000,000 in annual revenues to an industry leader in the Intermountain West with 2,500 employees and over $453,000,000 in annual revenues. Elkhorn was sold in 2013 to Wood Group from Scotland. This resulted in a gain of about 165 times the original purchase price and all the funds went to the employees. While with Elkhorn, Mr. Sullivan was a member of the Board of Directors of the American Pipeline Contractors Association and served for several years as President of the Affinity Insurance, LTD, one of the largest member-owned heterogeneous group captive reinsurance companies in the world.
Mr. Bozzer's legal practice encompasses general commercial law, corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, project finance and public private partnerships. His honours include receiving the highest peer review rating by Martindale Hubbell, and industry recognition in the fields of corporate law and banking law. Mr. Bozzer is the Chair of Advantage BC (formerly known as the British Columbia International Finance Centre) as well as a director of numerous private corporations.
Dr. Gorrell has over 30 years experience with both private and public oil and gas property exploration and development in Western Canada and China. Dr. Gorrell has served as director, officer and controlling principal of several successful oil & gas ventures listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Currently, Dr. Gorrell is a director and President, Chief Executive officer and Co-Chairman of Petromin Resources Ltd.
Stan Page based in Dallas, Texas, has over 38 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. For the past 30 years, Mr. Page has held various leadership field and operation positions with major oil companies including BP America and Amoco Production Co. From 2010 to 2016 he was Senior VP of US Operations for Quicksilver Resources where he provided strategic direction for engineering, geology, procurement, drilling, completion and day to day procedures.
Mr. Aabak, a Canadian citizen, is a seasoned oil and gas industry executive with over 40 years experience in the “upstream and midstream” E&P sector, as well as the oilfield construction sector. Mr. Aabak is currently Managing Director of Flatiron Field Services LLC, a natural gas processing company, located in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Aabak joined the Board of Directors of the Company on December 12, 2018.
